Hunter 13th Ward Conference - Mutual Night

Wednesday  January 19, 2011

Ward conferences have officially started. Hunter 13th & Magna Wards are up first. We visited the Hunter Ward, who meets for mutual every Wednesday night. We all (YM & YW) met in the young womens room for opening exercise. It was really nice to see every youth dressed in Sunday best, they all looked very dapper.

After opening exercise we divided & the YM went to their side with the young men leaders. Ame Nydegger (YW President) taught us a really great lesson on the things the girls should be doing now to enter into the temple one day...

After her lesson we made temple time capsules!!

Ame made these super cute temple hangers for the girls to one day hang their temple dresses on...

I know it's blurry...but is says:

"Temple Hanger"
Hang on to your values, hang on to your testimony, hang on to your goals, so that someday you can hand your temple dress on me.

Most of the girls, missing a few. Beautiful job ladies!!

They each made a list of qualities they will be looking for in their future companions as well as goals that they will work for in order to one day enter His holy house.

We even had a birthday!!

These cookies were the BEST!!

So was the cake!! yumm..

Thank you for a great mutual night Hunter 13th!

Manga 2nd Ward - YWIE

Tuesday January 11th, 2011

On Tuesday January 11th, the young women of the Magna ward held their Young Women in Excellence! They decorated the RS room with a disney pricess theme... =)

Each of the girls chose a Disney princess,  and that pricess represented one of the young women values. In order, they each told the story/highlighted their princess...and they wore the prettiest formals!!

Here is the gorgeous Leo with our beautiful Pocahontas!

After the closing remarks by bishop Neti we had some light refreshements!

Girls, what a very spiritual night spent with the best royalty!! Great job!!

"Youth Dance - Cultivate An Attitude of Grattitude"

Friday we had our fall youth dance!!

Theme: "Cultivate an Attitude of Grattitude
Date: 11/12/10
Time: 7pm
Place: Stake Center
Dress Code: Sunday Best
Dance Cards: Yes Please!

We absolutely LOVE the young men & young women of our stake...

Our youth leaders where: Talia Fisiinaua, Lia Fehoko, Konokono Lotulelei & TJ Maka.....
(missing Lia below)

When we met w/them to plan out all the details of the dance they had such great input. These four where such a great help...they gave ideas of what they wanted for refreshments...intermission games (since we didn't have a set program)...decorations, and the DJ...
Their main responsibilities at the dance where: to conduct...be the MC's...run the intermission games....help enccourage youth to get their boogy on & help us adult leaders with whatever it is we needed...withouth them it would've have been such a success!!

So MUCHO luvs to you four for a job well done!!

Here are a few...I mean a TON of pics from Friday night's events....they're not quite in order...
it was really soo much fun!!

A big thanks to Tiare 'Iongi for making our beautiful sign!

The guessing Jars...the person closest w/o going over...WINS! There where alot of good guesses and calculating going on...

We even did what ALL Tongans do at EVERY dance....THE TONGAN MARCH...

I was surprised to see that many of the youth knew the proper way to "wait for the train & jump in line"...

"The March" was lead by Talia & Teejay....& they did a terric job!

You go left...we go right...

left....right....

and of course it has to wind into a snake....

And ours went out that door...

& back in this door....

We can't finish until we all come in a full circle and have a great big group hug....

Well, actually it finishes with a couples slow dance & they (the youth) knew it too...because as soon as the music started...the dance floor was barren....

Refreshments table..

Get your boogie on!

Cinderella Game...20 handsome guys...

20 lovely shoes....

Are my eyes deceiving me??...*singing*...one of these things just doesn't belong here....

LOL...

Each YM's job was to pick a shoe & find the owner while the owners hid in the crowd...
They  were searching high & low...

But for some reason none of them wanted to look for the owner of that shoe...

Luckily Nia claimed it!!

& they lived happily ever after... ;-)

Here were the prizes...their favorite form of nourishment...

Beautiful Ladies...

Mingle - Mingle game...

The crazy bunch from the Layton Branch....they were so fun to watch!

Dancing the night away...

Winner of the Reese's PB cups!! Great guess Tevita!

Here's the winner of all the skittles...she promised the rest of her YW that she was going to bring them to church the following sunday and share with everyone...what a sugar rush they all must've had...

A special thanks to all our Priesthood leaders, YW leaders, Parents and especially our wonderful youth for such a great time!! We had a blast watching each of you associate with one another & hope we can continue in that same spirit at our next youth dance!
